Dornoch Castle Hotel - Dornoch, Scotland
Dornoch Castle Hotel - Our hotel is situated on Castle Street in Dornoch, which is the main road going into Dornoch from the A9. 3 star AA hotel and Rosette for our excellent food, this 15th Century Castle is in the centre of Historic Dornoch.

Dornoch is easily accessed by rail, road and air with four airlines flying into Inverness airport daily.
All 24 en suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated with a strong emphasis on comfort and tranquillity but still having that Baronial home feel about it.
The Castle offers the traveller an ideal place to relax after a day on the golf course, or a day spent enjoying Europe's last wilderness with the abundance of bird life that frequent this corner of the coast, or just to wind down after a day's travelling with a 'dram' by the fire.

Swallow Royal Golf Hotel - Dornoch, Scotland
Swallow Royal Golf Hotel - A hotel since 1938, the Royal Golf has been awarded 4 Stars by Visit Scotland as a result of recent improvements.

Situated on the 1st tee at the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Course, many of the 25 en-suite rooms, including the two luxury suites, have panoramic views across the course and the Dornoch coastline beyond.

The split-level Conservatory provides all day dining and is the ideal vantage point for watching the proceedings at the club. Whilst miles of sandy beach may invite you to enjoy long undisturbed walks, you may find it difficult to resist the temptation of settling down with your book in front of a real log fire in the Tom Morris bar. The centre of Dornoch, a Royal Burgh since 1906, is just 200 yards from the hotel, and features the 13th century Cathedral, recently brought to the world's attention by the media reporting on the christening of Rocco, son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie. With 44 golf courses, activities such as walking, bird watching, trout or salmon fishing and horse-riding combined with a host of attractions in the surrounding area, Dornoch offers a tranquil base from which to discover the treasures of the Highlands.

The famous industrialist and philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie moved to the area in the 19th century and stayed for the rest of his life. He once said: 'If there is a heaven on earth, it is here'. We like to think so.
